They are not the same as varicose veins, which are bigger blue veins that protrude from the skin and are mainly seen on the legs.
Why do they develop?
As we age and our skin loses volume, the skin becomes more translucent and these blood vessels become more evident. Genetics can play a role and sun damage can exacerbate the condition. They are usually easy to camouflage, but sometimes we just want to be rid of them once and for all.
