Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

If you’re noticing drier than normal skin, hyperpigmentation from too much summer sun, and a few more dirty martini’s than normal, you aren’t alone. IPL is a fantastic way to reclaim that lost glow, and if you stay on course, you’ll still be glowing for the upcoming holidays!

If you haven’t had IPL before, it’s like laser hair removal in that they both use light and heat to destroy the target, in this case, it’s usually hyperpigmentation, coarse skin, spider veins, redness, fine lines, and rosacea.

The process is quick (30-60 minutes, depending on the area) and the laser uses pulses of light to penetrate the skin at a deep level, which causes the skin to sense these pulses as an injury, and then collagen springs into action to repair the injury. This increase in collagen production results in plumper skin and reduces age lines, while the constriction of blood vessels reduces redness.

This treatment is usually non-invasive, but there may be some redness and swelling immediately following the treatment. If you have areas of hyperpigmentation, age spots, and sun damage, you may notice that these areas will look more pronounced (a peppering effect) before they start to fade; this is normal. Following the treatment, you will need to stay out of the sun and use sunscreen religiously as your skin goes through the rejuvenation process. After 7-10 days, you should notice a visible improvement in the texture, and firmness of your skin as well as an increase in volume.

SkinCeuticals TCA Peel

This is SUCH a great peel! SkinCeuticals Smart TCA Peel significantly improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, pore size, laxity, and stubborn discoloration.

While it is an aggressive peel, it is still suitable for all skin types and tones and features a blend of 15% Trichloroacetic Acid and 3% Glycolic Acid and includes a patented post-peel restorative mask to help soothe and reduce skin temperature and inflammation immediately following the peel process.

Dysport

Dysport is an injectable neurotoxin that produces a natural look to help smooth the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines – the lines in the area between your eyebrows. Dysport is a popular treatment for this area because it doesn’t have the effect of making your face feel ‘frozen’. It temporarily treats the facial muscles between the eyebrows and allows the muscles in the untreated areas of your face to move unrestricted. You can, and will, be able to show normal facial expressions while treating frown lines.

As mentioned above, this month Dysport is available as an add-on to Sculptra at $4/unit.
